There are three basic ways of adding to this wiki. You could just edit/correct what has already been written. At a more advanced level, you can add a new page to an existing topic, or a whole new topic.

Editing/correcting text

This is the simplest (though very valuable) way of intearcting with the content. Simply click on the Edit Page button at the top or bottom of the page you are reading. This will open the editing page and you can delete or add as you think necessary.

You might also want to improve the layout. In which case see How to edit this Wiki.

Adding new pages to a topic

Starting from the position in the page that you wish the link to appear, you need to type in the name of the new page. There are two ways to do this:

  • Using camel case: PBwiki recognises any word that mixes upper and lower case as a link to the new page. For example NewPage. Save the page and you will see your newpages name with dotted underlining all ready for you to click on. When you do so for the first time, the new page will open at the editing screen ready for you to enter text or paste in from word (better for large sections of text as it will have been spell checked!).
  • Using square brackets: Any text with square brackets will be set as a link whether it is in camel case or not. For example [New Page]. Using square brackets has an important advantage in that you can make the link read differently than the page name. To do this put a vertical line after the page name and follow this with whatever you want the link to appear as. For example [NewPage|Go to new page] will appear as __Go to new page__.

Closing the loop

It is important if you add page or topic to ensure that the reader has a way of returning to the point where the took off from. Always include at the bottom of your page or topic a link to the starting point. For example [PreviousPage|Return to previous page]. will do nicely.

You will find that the names of pages will be displayed at the right hand side of the screen. Check your typing of the link carefully, otherwise PBwiki will try to create a new page (for example PreviuosPage). You will know that you ahve made this mistake if the link has broken underlining, indicating that the page has not yet been accessed. In this case return to you new page and correct the link.
